One afternoon in February, I opened the door to see the cloisters bathed in sunlight… it was extraordinarily beautiful. Gradually, I discovered the decorated stones. Everything is expressed in this small, luminous space: the seasons, our joys and sorrows, happiness and suffering… I walk, look around me, turn back, sit down, explain, recount, and always leave with a touch of regret, even in the knowledge that I will find it again in all its beauty tomorrow.

What beautiful architecture! The carvings of the keystones, doors, and capitals bear witness to the work of the stonemasons of old. Come and admire the fresco of the Annunciation, and enjoy the cloister during the summer nights. The serenity of the place permeates us from the very first step.

When entering the cloister, you may first think of simply circling the four wings and then leaving. You’ll gradually discover the sculptures that adorn the walls, where every detail counts, and let yourself be carried away by the magic of the place. Looking up, you’ll be fascinated by the open stonework against the blue of the sky. The cloister is where this world and the next connect. It is a moment to savour.
